Grandma Powell passed away on April, 24th 2011. It also happened to be my parents wedding anniversary and Easter. The Thursday before, Grandma told my mom that she was excited to move on and that she wanted to go on Easter. I think some people are allowed to choose their day of passing and Grandma was one of them. I took Cole and flew to Utah for the funeral. I got to conduct the opening and closing hymns. The common theme of the funeral was Grandma's loving heart. Grandma was blessed with the gift of charity, or the pure love of Christ. She absolutely was able to look at someone and see them the way Heavenly Father does. She could immediately see your potential and I think every grandchild would claim to be her favorite.
A funeral always initiates a little family reunion. All my siblings on one couch. Left to right: Angie, Mike, Devan, Jeff and Grandpa Powell.

I love your Grandma Powell. I'm sorry that I haven't read your BLOG in a while so I hadn't heard that she had passed away. She has always been an angel. She loved my kids like they were her own grandkids! I love your family :)
